Ekho Studio emerged as one of the standout performers at the recently concluded Fit Out Awards UK 2026, taking home three awards across the project categories, claiming Fit Out Project of the Year – Small Office (Over £500k), Fit Out Project of the Year – Medium Office, and the overall Fit Out Project of the Year, recognising a studio that has demonstrated exceptional creative capability and design discipline across two distinctly different briefs.

The Sky Lounge, a refurbishment of AstraZeneca's Cambridge workplace, earned Ekho Studio both the Small Office (Over £500k) category win and the overall Fit Out Project of the Year by transforming a well-established workplace community into a warm, tactile, and purposeful environment that challenges conventional assumptions about what a modern office can offer.

Meanwhile, Gilbanks represented a different but equally assured dimension of the studio's work, designed for a serviced office provider targeting professional services companies, where a sophisticated use of materials, lighting, and colour produced a five-star environment that feels luxurious and practical in equal measure.

On the Fit Out Project of the Year – Small Office (Over £500k), judges stated: "The project creates a space people would genuinely want to spend time in, combining aesthetic elegance with thoughtful design. Its quality, refinement and strong sense of purpose make this a compelling example of what a modern office environment can offer."

On the Fit Out Project of the Year – Medium Office, the panel said: "The thoughtful use of materials, lighting and strong colour gives the space a luxurious feel without becoming overly clinical. Clever design choices across the ceilings, finishes and furnishings demonstrate a strong awareness of budget, resulting in a polished five star environment that remains engaging and practical."

On the overall Fit Out Project of the Year, judges added: "Ekho Studio has delivered an exceptional transformation with The Sky Lounge, combining thoughtful design with outstanding attention to detail. The project demonstrates a clear understanding of how space, materials and functionality can come together to create a distinctive environment. The Sky Lounge showcases creativity, craftsmanship and a strong commitment to delivering a high-quality end result.
