NG Chartered Surveyors appointed to lead EMCCA office fit-out at Chesterfield's Vicar Lane

UK property consultancy NG Chartered Surveyors has been appointed by the East Midlands Combined County Authority (EMCCA) to oversee the fit-out of a new 27,000 sq ft office headquarters within Vicar Lane Shopping Centre in Chesterfield town centre.

Insider Media reports that EMCCA is relocating from its current base at the Northern Gateway Enterprise Centre to a refurbished unit on the corner of Steeplegate and Church Lane — a space previously occupied by Argos until 2018 and most recently used as a temporary Jobcentre between 2021 and 2023.

The building consultancy team at NG Chartered Surveyors will manage the full fit-out programme. EMCCA will initially occupy the ground floor, with works to the first floor to follow on completion. Fit-out contractor We Are Spaces is delivering the works, with the unit let by Sheet Anchor Evolve, part of M Core.

The appointment positions the Chesterfield scheme as a catalyst for broader town centre regeneration, converting a long-vacant retail unit into a purpose-fit public sector workspace at a prominent civic address.
