This award recognises the most outstanding fit out project completed on the island of Ireland in the past 12 months that demonstrates true leadership in climate-responsive and performance-driven. Open to all sectors—commercial, residential, retail, or public—the winning project will have demonstrated a commitment to environmental integrity, long-term performance, and resilience to climate challenges. Projects should showcase how sustainability principles were embedded from concept to completion, whether through design, delivery methods, or long-term performance. Who can enter: The project’s lead designer, sustainability consultant, fit out contractor, or any project collaborator (with permission from the lead party—only one entry per project is accepted). The judges will be looking for clear information backed up by facts, with particular attention to the criteria listed below:
- Project Brief & Sustainability Vision: Provide a brief description of the project, including the original brief, location, contract value, square footage, and key dates. Outline the sustainability vision, performance-led design, and any environmental, health, or wellbeing goals set at the outset.
- Project Team: List the full team involved, including client, designers, sustainability consultants, architects, engineers, contractors, and key suppliers. Highlight team members specifically responsible for sustainable outcomes.
- Execution & Sustainability Delivery: Explain your concept and how the project fulfilled the sustainability objectives. Include any specific measurable targets, or approaches taken to reduce carbon footprint, energy use, or enhance environmental performance.
- Innovation in Sustainability: Detail any sustainability-related innovations introduced, such as smart energy systems, material reuse, circular construction methods, or biophilic design. Showcase evidence substantiated by performance data, lifecycle impact assessments or similar.
- Challenges & Resilience: Highlight any sustainability-specific or project-wide challenges encountered (e.g., supply chain, materials sourcing, regulatory) and how they were successfully addressed.
- Supporting Evidence & Testimonials: Include facts, data, or client feedback that demonstrate the project’s environmental success. Examples: reduced operational emissions, material sourcing metrics, waste diverted from landfill, or post-occupancy energy performance data. Reference independently verified or benchmarked performance data, e.g.,: NABERS, PHPP, LEED, BREEAM, Soft Landings or TM54 performance assessments.
